Back in September of 2014 we were invited by our friends over at Bare Safe https://www.facebook.com/groups/BareSafe/ to do our first all-day festival and what a great experience it was! These guys are known for putting on some pretty awesome events around the South-West and ‘ESH Presents…Exeter Party In The Park!’ was a collaboration with some fellow promoters that turned out to be a grand outing in the park indeed; two outdoor stages, Funktion One sound-systems and a lot of smiling people filled the beautiful Rougemont Gardens for the day.
Once In A Blue Moon was one of three food venues for the event, and for us this was an experiment, the first time operating out of a small gazebo set-up. Running a bit late we got things set-up and decorated in a short space of time…
And then we began prepping the food – oh the food – a solid menu of our now legendary Brazilian cheese toasties, cheeseballs and a selection of drinks -mmmmmm!
The lineup for the festival was huge, the likes of Sir David Rodigan and Alix Perez on the main stage and over at the Bare Safe set-up our good friends and previous café collaborators Kieran & The Iguanas and Manushka amongst others.
Being away from our usual stomping ground of lovely Bristol was a great experience, and it was a pleasure to get chatting to new festival and party folk, with some potentially exciting links for the future made. Funnily enough, there was a lot of confusion about WHAT our cheeseballs actually are, with one repeat customer commenting ‘I love cheese and these balls are cheesier than beyonce’ – RESPECT x
