OIABM popped up at a little charity fundraiser event in Bristol on the 5th of September called Lower The Tone. Accompanying firethrowers, polespinners and a variety of other finely dressed folk, we setup our little trading post near the entrance and kicked off the evening with the OIABM resident DJ PXM spinning an eclectic mix of music to set the mood.
Brightly coloured sticks of glittery candy floss, the now infamous cheesebread balls and toasties, as well as large chunks of organic watermelon were on the menu del dia, and so hungry were the ravers that come the end of the night our stores were barren!
As the toasties we serve are now something of a mini cult phenomenon, we held a competition to see who could eat the most in one evening, with medals and other prizes going to the winners. The champion, somewhat unsurprisingly, was Alex Gear! Alex holds the world record for the largest amount of cheesebread toasties eaten in one day (seven if you’re wondering) and is apparently still struggling to fit the gold medal over his chins.
As a way to send off the summer and welcome the winter, LTT was a massive success and OIABM would like to thank everyone who came, bartered and bounced. See you next time!
